These combat pilots have a friendship that transcends borders [commissioned piece completed Nov-2014]
At first, Tristan was eager to fight for his Fatherland. As the war wore on and it became clear that the cause for which he fought was not a just one, he looked for the right time to defect. In a mission over England, his squad was caught in a vicious dogfight. When his wingmen were eliminated, the wounded Tristan crash-landed his BF109 fighter in a pasture. Silver, the pilot that had shot him, recognized that his quarry was giving himself up. Now he must race to save his life!

This is based on an unpublished short story written by a friend about his character (Tristan). Silver is the character of another mutual friend who lives in Wales (hence the markings on his Spitfire). The two are actually friends and combatants in on online fighter game.
